City to name park after resident

YOUNGSTOWN — The city’s park and recreation commission is honoring a city resident by renaming the Oak-Ken Playground after her. An official dedication of the Irma N. Davis Park on the corner of Oak Hill and Kenmore avenues on the city’s South Side will be held at 10 a.m. Monday.

Davis is the executive director and founder of the Needle’s Eye Christian Counseling Center on Kenmore. For about 30 years, Needle’s Eye has focused on helping those with alcohol and drug addictions.
