HUBBARD
July 4
Assault: A woman reported a man shoved and struck her in the laundry room at a Myron Street apartment complex.
July 5
Menacing: A woman told police a person in the 1000 block of Saul Drive screamed at and threatened her.
Criminal mischief: A Grace Street man reported debris from fireworks on his roof and in his yard.
Theft: A woman’s wallet was removed from a shopping cart at Devine’s Shop ’n’ Save, 529 N. Main St.
July 6
Theft: Someone broke into a vehicle in the 200 block of East Liberty Street and took several items.
July 7
Criminal damaging: A woman found damage to a screen door on property she owns in the 400 block of Simler Street.
LIBERTY
July 3
Drugs: Police discovered nine suspected marijuana plants in plastic pots behind a shed at a residence in the 400 block of East Montrose Street.
Felonious assault: An official with Forum Health Northside Medical Center reported a 14-month-old child who had a wound above his right eye, apparently after having been struck by a BB near Green Acres Drive.
Felonious assault: A Green Acres Drive man who was hospitalized alleged a Youngstown woman, 28, cut him. No charges had been filed at the time of the report.
Stolen property: A registration check revealed a stolen 2002 Pontiac, which police stopped near Elm Street. Charged with receiving stolen property was a 36-year-old Youngstown man.
Domestic violence: A 25-year-old township man was charged after the man’s father alleged he brought a five-gallon gas can into the residence and made numerous threats to burn down a neighbor’s home and take the father hostage if police were called.
Theft: Officers charged a 19-year-old Bronx, N.Y., man. He was accused of concealing frozen foods and a stuffed toy while at Giant Eagle, 4700 Belmont Ave.
July 4
Criminal damaging: An elderly Redfern Drive man found damage to part of his front yard, apparently after someone drove a vehicle on it.
Criminal damaging: A man in the 3100 block of Hadley Avenue found a broken bedroom window to his apartment. Damage was estimated at $250.
Vehicle theft: A worker for a Motor Inn Drive motel alleged a co-worker took his 1999 Chevrolet van.
July 5
Arson: Officers responded to a Mansell Drive home regarding a domestic situation where, they said, a 53-year-old intoxicated Youngstown man admitted setting fire to an upstairs garbage can during an argument at a family gathering.
Breaking and entering: Someone entered the Youngstown Crab Co., 3917 Belmont Ave., through a second-floor window. A shelf was pushed over.
Drugs: After being pulled over in a possible stolen car near state Route 193, a Girard man, 33, and a Warren man, 41, were arrested when, authorities said, a metal spoon with suspected heroin, a bag of syringes, a suspected crack pipe and other contraband were found. One of the men faced charges of possession of heroin, drug-abuse instruments and drug paraphernalia, as well as unauthorized use of a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property; the other was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Theft/damage: A James Lane man reported several people who came to gather property belonging to the accuser’s former girlfriend damaged a toilet, causing flooding, before taking compact discs, DVDs and a canvas bag with various tools.
July 6
Criminal damaging: A Stonington Drive man returned from vacation and discovered a damaged doorway leading to an enclosed porch, apparently after someone tried to enter.
GIRARD
July 4
Theft: A 26-year-old man and a woman, 29, both of Girard, were charged after officers responded to a report of someone entering vehicles in the 400 block of East Kline Street. The man had a stereo faceplate and other items; in addition, hand tools, five CD cases and other property were found nearby, the report showed.
Criminal mischief: A woman in the 500 block of East Kline Street reported someone tossed eggs at her residence and threw garbage on her front yard.
Theft: An Ella Street man discovered several keys and $380 missing.
July 5
Theft: A surveillance tape at The Laundry Basket, 41 W. Broadway Ave., showed someone stealing money from a coin machine.
Criminal damaging: An East Second Street woman alleged her daughter’s 19-year-old boyfriend pushed and kicked a front storm door after being forced out of the residence.
July 6
Auto theft: An East Wilson Avenue man reported his 1995 Oldsmobile stolen.
Arrest: An intoxicated woman, 41, was charged with disorderly conduct on West Prospect Street.
July 7
Misuse of a credit card: A Jenson Beach, Fla., man reported his stolen credit card was used at a gas station on U. S. Route 422 to buy $29 worth of gasoline.
Breaking and entering: A woman arrived to find a gate open at Girard Recycling Inc., 426 Hartzell St. Stolen were copper radiators, for an approximate loss of $500.
Burglary: An East Broadway Avenue woman noticed an air-conditioning unit had been removed from a front window after someone entered. Two wedding bands and a CD/DVD player were missing.
Damage: A Liberty woman told police someone tried to removed the gas tank from her car while she was on East Second Street.
July 8
Criminal mischief: Someone tossed a flag into a pond, ran over and shattered a flagpole on a golf course and damaged a putting green at the Mahoning Country Club Inc., 710 E. Liberty St., causing roughly $1,000 worth of damage.
