Friday's Best Bets on TV

“Queen Bees” (9 p.m., The N): So-called “mean girls” get a makeover (we assume to being “nice”) in this series.

“Stargate Atlantis” (10 p.m., Sci Fi): Get set for more far-out adventures as “Stargate Atlantis” launches its fifth season. And changes are afoot as Richard Woolsey (Robert Picardo) takes command of the Atlantis expedition. We can’t wait to see him deal with Ronan.

“Flashpoint” (10 p.m., CBS): Yes, there is life for scripted network series in the summer, or at least one filmed in Canada (and also airing there). CBS’ “Flashpoint” tracks strategic response unit officers in Toronto whose typical workday might include rescuing hostages, busting up gangs, defusing bombs and scaling tall buildings at a single bound and rescuing suicidal teenagers. They’re master negotiators, to boot. The show, stars Enrico Colantoni (“Veronica Mars,” “Just Shoot Me”).

“FNSU Stops Being Nice” (11 p.m., Comedy Central): Comics use standup to talk about the harshness of their lives. It’s funny stuff.
