POLAND — The free outdoor movies continue at Yellow Creek Theatre in Poland Village as it presents award-winning classic films every Friday evening throughout the summer.

U.S. Air Force Band at Boardman Park
BOARDMAN — The award- winning U.S. Air Force Band of Flight from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base will present a free public performance at 7 p.m. Saturday in the Maag Theatre at Boardman Park.
The Concert Band consisting of 45 members is the largest single ensemble within the Band of Flight. The Concert Band performs a diverse repertoire which includes original band compositions and orchestral transcriptions, popular Broadway and show tunes, marches and patriotic selections. Annual Fireworks Festival
NEW CASTLE, Pa. — New Castle’s annual Fireworks Festival starts Saturday at 3 p.m. on the Columbus Inner Belt in downtown. Children’s activities, the American Cancer Society’s Rubber Ducky Derby and live entertainment are just a few activities happenings in the fireworks capital of America.

Art show at mall
BOARDMAN — The Davis Family YMCA on McClurg Road is highlighting its adult painting classes with an art show at Southern Park Mall. Paintings by Michael Antonoff, Judy Cavicchi, Jill Cole, Jim Donlin, George Jarbek, Barbara Lyras, Theresa Smaroff, Carol Vechiarelli and instructor Suzanne Gray are on display in the south concourse, near Sears.
YMCA art classes are open to members and nonmembers. The next session begins the week of July 21, with six weekly lessons through August 30th. Beginning and intermediate students learn the fundamentals of color, composition, design and brushwork, as well as informal lessons in art history. Suzanne Gray has a fine arts’ degree in painting and teaches all levels of art at the Boardman facility.
