iPhones on sale in Mexico for less than half U.S. cost
MEXICO CITY — Apple Inc.’s next generation iPhone lands this week in Mexico as part of its global debut, selling in Latin America’s second-largest market for less than half its planned U.S. price.
America Movil will sell the 8-gigabyte 3G iPhone for as little as 773 pesos ($75) in Mexico for buyers who agree to a two-year, 799-peso ($77) monthly plan that includes 400 minutes of calls and 200 text messages.
Its 16-gigabyte version, with double the memory, will sell for 1,877 pesos ($182), according to an announcement by America Movil, Latin America’s largest mobile phone service provider, which is owned by Mexican billionaire Carlos Slim.
The price of the phone rises with cheaper monthly plans.

Delta to discontinue flights through Toledo
TOLEDO — For the second time in two months, a major airline has announced plans to pull out of Toledo.
Delta Air Lines said Tuesday it will discontinue its passenger service at Toledo Express Airport on Sept. 1.
Delta currently flies three times a day between Toledo and Cincinnati.
It had flown nonstop to Atlanta, too, but discontinued that service from Toledo earlier this year.
Last month, Continental Airlines said it would drop Toledo on Sept. 3.
Comair tells employees to expect layoffs this fall
CINCINNATI — Regional airline Comair has told employees that it expects to cut 8 percent of its work force this fall as part of its plan to ground 14 of its 50-seat jets.
The Delta Air Lines Inc. subsidiary sent the memo to employees this week.
Comair spokeswoman Kate Marx said the Erlanger, Ky.-based airline expects to cut about 300 pilot and 220 flight attendant positions.
Marx said the airline has steadily reduced noncrew staff since the beginning of the year.
She said the pilot and flight attendant staffing now has to be adjusted with the grounding of the planes.
