GM to unveil Cruze in October

GM announced today that its newest entry in the compact car market will be called "Cruze."

According to a news release, the Cruze will make its global debut at the Paris Motor Show in early October.

"Cruze was developed by a global design and engineering team and will be built in multiple locations around the world," the company said. There was no immediate confirmation that this is the so-called "mystery car" that will replace the Cobalt at the Lordstown GM facility.

The Chevrolet Cruze will be available in European markets in spring 2009, followed by other markets, the company said.
