Home destroyed in Erie Street fire

YOUNGSTOWN — A vacant two-story house at 1211 Erie St. on the South Side was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived around 4:20 a.m. Sunday. Fire crews set up a defensive operation to protect structures nearby. Damage to the house was set at $15,000, a total loss, and the cause is under investigation.
