Deputy reports theft of seven guns, sword

YOUNGSTOWN — A thief stole seven guns and a sword from the home of a Mahoning County deputy sheriff.

A window of his West Side home was forced open between 4 p.m. and midnight Saturday, and the house was ransacked. The deputy and his wife had been away.

The deputy said he’s been having trouble with a teenager from the neighborhood who has been shouting about “killing the police” and killing the deputy’s family.

Weapons taken in the break-in were two revolvers, two shotguns, two semi-automatic pistols and a rifle, all of which belonged to the deputy. Also taken were a power drill, diamond ring and a camera.
