YOUNGSTOWN — Portions of two county roads must be closed for culvert replacements, the Mahoning County Engineer’s Office has announced.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Oak Street will be closed in Coitsville Township from North Hubbard Road to the Ohio-Pennsylvania line. Traffic will be detoured along Evergreen Road, state Route 208, U.S. Route 422 and North Hubbard Road.
In Goshen Township, West Pine Lake Road will be closed from Seacrist Road to state Route 534 July 16-22. Traffic will be detoured along Seacrist Road and state Routes 14, 165 and 534.
Tressel to sign books
BOARDMAN — Ohio State football coach Jim Tressel will be at Barnes Noble at the Shops at Boardman Park at 10 a.m. July 17 to sign his new book, “The Winner’s Manual: For the Game of Life.”
“The Winners Manual,” co-written with Chris Fabry, provides a rare glimpse into the mind of one of the most respected coaches in football history and into the huddle of one of the most successful football programs of all time.
In the book, Tressel shares never-before-published anecdotes about players and games from throughout his coaching career at Youngstown State and Ohio State universities, as well as fundamental lessons he has been imparting to his players and staff for the past 20 years.
Canine reunion planned
CANFIELD — Ice cream, games and contests — all for the dogs.
Animal shelter Angels for Animals is having a Doggie Daze Reunion on Saturday for household canines to enjoy themselves.
The event will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and all owners are invited to bring their dogs for activities, photos and plenty of treats. Angels for Animals encourages shelter adoptees to return for the reunion, but the festival is open to the public.

Niagara casino bus trip
YOUNGSTOWN — The Greater Youngstown Point Inc. is sponsoring an all-day bus trip Saturday to Seneca Casino and Resort in Niagara Falls, N.Y.
The bus will leave at 7 a.m. from the parking lot behind McDonald’s at 3630 Belmont Ave. and will return at midnight.
Cost is $40 per person and includes $10 in casino money and $5 for food. A sack lunch will be provided. Those purchasing two tickets will get a third one free.
All proceeds will go toward preventing homelessness in the Mahoning Valley.

Guard band to perform
NORTH LIMA — The Air National Guard Band of the Great Lakes will perform at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Woodworth Park on Luther Avenue. Concert admission is free. Flag retirement will be demonstrated by the North Lima Boy Scout Troop.
Bring blankets or lawn chairs because seating is limited.
