R&J rolls to easy 17-2 win in ‘B’ loop
STRUTHERS — R&J Trucking sent 17 batters to the plate in the top of the first inning, scoring 12 times, and added five more runs in the second to defeat Rondinelli Tuxedo, 17-2, in the opening game of their Class B semifinal playoff series at Cene Park Saturday night.
Rondinelli, the top seed in the playoffs, finished the regular season with a 24-3 record.
Every starter for R&J had at least one hit, scored a run, and drove in a run as they had 12 straight batters score after one out in the first. Joe Wielbruda had three hits and Matt Pitzulo drove home four runs. Nick Timko pitched two innings of relief and was the winning pitcher.
Jason Bagoly had two hits for Rondinelli.
Astro Falcons 3, Dave Sugar Excavating 2
Bryan Visingardi’s two out double in the bottom of the ninth inning drove home the tying and winning runs for Astro.
Sugar led 2-1 in the top of the ninth on a pinch-hit single by Sean Gabriel.
Trent Vallinger had three hits while Mike Natale had two singles for Astro. The double by Visingardi was his second of the game and made a winner of Jared Turocy who went the distance, striking out 12.
Jake Kucek had three hits and losing pitcher Patrick O’Brien two for Dave Sugar. Todd Kibby went the first six innings allowing no earned runs with eight strikeouts.

Astro Falcons opened up its semifinal series with a 11-1 victory over Livi Steel. Joe Fontana had two hits while Sutton Whiting and Matt Semach drove home two runs each. Greg Gibson had two of the three Livi Steel hits.
Rondinelli Tuxedo 3, Wharmby Sports 1
Anthony Raschilla and Kyle Vaclav had two hits each Rondinelli survived a seventh inning rally by Wharmby. Shane Parks went the first 62‚Ñ3 innings before being relieved by Matt Shelton with the tying runs on base in the seventh. Shelton got the final out for the save.
