MERCER COUNTY Sentence court
Judge John Reed of Mercer County Common Pleas Court sentenced the following people last week. According to court documents:
Trenten Brown, 31, of Clarksville Street, Greenville, 15 to 60 months incarceration for possession with intent to deliver, a felony. He was apprehended July 2, 2007, on George Street, Farrell, with more than 2 pounds of marijuana. He was also resentenced to six to 12 months for a 2005 conviction for public drunkenness and simple assault, for which he had been on probation.
Norman Crawford, 43, of George Street, Sharon, six to 12 months followed by two years’ probation for harassment and stalking, both misdemeanors. From June 10 to Sept. 27, 2007, he stalked a Farrell woman, walking around her house, following her to work and frequently driving past her house slowly. He also sent her threatening text messages and threatened to burn down her house.
Alisha Cusick, 27, of Slippery Rock Road, Grove City, six to 12 months followed by two years’ probation for felony retail theft. She stole $60 worth of shoes from the Factory Brand Shoe Store at the Grove City Factory Outlets on Dec. 11. The offense is a felony because it was her third or subsequent.
Jason Harvey, 25, of Beachwood Drive, Girard, Ohio, was placed on one year’s probation for possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, for bringing klonopin, a controlled substance, into the Mercer County Jail in January 2008. He was serving a sentence at the time for felony theft by unlawful taking.
Mandi Jo Hicks, 28, of East Valcourt Road, Grove City, was placed on two years’ probation for consolidated misdemeanor count of bad checks. In August 2007, she passed five checks totaling $939 at the Greenville Veterinary Clinic, 409 E. Jamestown Road, West Salem Township, knowing they would not be honored.
Jon Howell, 31, of Ohio Street, Sharon, four to 10 years in prison for two felony counts of person not to possess firearms. Howell was apprehended June 25, 2007, at a Logan Avenue, Sharon, address with a revolver and an assault rifle.
Christopher Leslie, 33, of Pa. Route 18, New Wilmington, was placed on two years’ probation for carrying an unlicensed gun, a misdemeanor. He had a loaded revolver at a Leesburg Station Road, Springfield Township, address between July 30 and Aug. 1, 2007.
Christopher Thomas, 36, of East Connelly Avenue, Sharon, was placed on two years’ probation for simple assault, false imprisonment and terroristic threats, all misdemeanors. On Nov. 3, 2007, he punched and kicked a woman numerous times at an Ellis Avenue, Hermitage address, and dragged her, causing the victim a broken nose, chipped teeth and bruising and swelling. He also refused to let the woman, who was a passenger in the car he was driving, exit the vehicle and told her he was going to kill her.
Tiffany Thompson, 38, of North Mercer Avenue, Sharpsville, was placed on two years’ probation for misdemeanor retail theft. She stole $260 worth of food and clothing April 6, 2007, from Wal-Mart, 1275 N. Hermitage Road, Hermitage.
Jason Troutman, 31, of Chestnut Road, New Castle, five to 15 years in prison for two counts of felony robbery, two felony counts of criminal trespass and one misdemeanor count of theft by unlawful taking. On July 20, 2007, he entered Quaker Steak and Lube offices on East Connelly Boulevard, Sharon, with a bandanna over his mouth and pointed a gun at a woman, robbing her of the contents of her purse. On July 31, he asked for a job application at Primary Health, 123 E. State St., Hermitage, then hid in the building and stole two women’s cash, credit cards and driver’s licenses. On Aug. 9 he requested a job application at Victor Printing, 1 Victor Way, Sharon, then left the office by a route he had been told not to take. On Aug. 20, 2007, he confronted a woman in the break room at Primary Health Network, 197 E. State St., threatening to smash her head while he struggled with her for her purse.
