Rev. Dr. Lee to lead First United Methodist
YOUNGSTOWN — The Rev. Dr. George Lee has been appointed pastor of First United Methodist Church of West Austintown, 6749 Mahoning Ave., effective Tuesday. He will preach his first sermon at the church Sunday.
Bishop John L. Hopkins of the East Ohio Conference announced the appointment at the annual meeting in Lakeside.
Rev. Dr. Lee served the last five years at Boardman First United Methodist Church as pastor of membership care.
He received a bachelor’s degree from The Ohio State University in Columbus; a certificate of attainment from Garrett Evangelical Seminary, North West University; a master’s degree from Scarritt College and a doctorate from Graduate Theological Foundation in Indiana. He held three national certifications from two general boards of the United Methodist Church.
Dr. Lee and his wife, Trudie, of Canfield have four children and 12 grandchildren.
