Results of OVI Task Force blitz in Austintown

The Mahoning County OVI Task Force conducted a zero-tolerance blitz in Austintown on July 3 from the hours of 8 p.m. to 12 a.m. The task force was enforcing a zero tolerance for OVI (Operating a Vehicle Impaired) offenders.

The results are:

OVI Arrests: 2

Safety Belt Citations: 13

Speed Citations: 10

Driving Under Suspension Arrests: 3

Misc. other Citations: 3

Felony Drug Arrest: 1

Misdeameanor Drug Arrest: 1

Warrants: 2

Number of Stops: 94

The following departments assisted in the detail: Youngstown State University police, New Middletown, Beaver, Goshen, Jackson, Canfield, ODNR, and Austintown.

In addition, a sobriety checkpoint will be conducted in Mahoning County on July 12th from the hours of 10 p.m. to 2 a.m.
