Man stabbed on front porch

YOUNGSTOWN — A man was stabbed during a robbery on his front porch on the North Side.

Police were called to a home in the 1000 block of Willow Court about 10:30 p.m. Thursday, and found Howard Glover, 38, stabbed in the upper left chest.

Glover told police that he and his fiance were talking in the living room when a man they didn’t know knocked on their front door. When Glover went to the porch, the man demanded money and a gold chain. Once the items were handed over, he stabbed Glover and fled.

The woman called 911 and an ambulance took Glover to St. Elizabeth’s Health Center, where he was treated.

The police report noted Glover and the fiance told differing versions of the event. Glover identified the man as wearing all black and a ski mask. She said he was wearing red pants and a black top.
