Past suitors

Forum Health officials say they have no plan to sell Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren.

In 2007, however, the Forum Board of Trustees made public two attempts to sell the Trumbull County hospital, which they say is profitable.

Trustees signed a nonbinding letter of intent to sell TMH to Signature Hospital Corp., a for-profit company, based in Houston, in September 2007. During the due-diligence process, Signature decided not to pursue the deal.

In December 2007, Forum trustees said they were in discussions with Brim Healthcare of Brentwood, Tenn., about the purchase of TMH and Hillside Rehabilitation Hospital in Howland. There was no purchase agreement or letter of intent signed between Forum and Brim, and that deal also fell through.
