Nominate a player for charity softball game

NILES — Do you know someone who donates their time and effort to their community? You can nominate them to play in the Hope Foundation of the Mahoning Valley’s inaugural Softball Game of Hope Charity Classic. The classic is a celebrity softball game that will benefit chronically and terminally ill children in the Valley, so that they can have the experiences generally afforded healthy children. It will be held at 4 p.m. Aug. 16 at Eastwood Field and pits Mahoning County against Trumbull County. The teams will be comprised of local community leaders, dignitaries and media from their respective counties.

To nominate a player, go to www.thegameofhope.com/softball, and click the Nominate-A-Player link in the upper left corner. Deadline is July 18. The person who wins the nomination will receive an award, and will play in the Classic.
