Here’s a quick overview of free Independence Day activities in the Mahoning Valley:

Austintown: Parade will be at 2 p.m. Friday beginning at corner of Kirk and Raccoon roads and will proceed North to Falcon Drive.

Boardman: The U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers Chorus will perform at the Maag Outdoor Arts Theatre in Boardman Township Park at 8 tonight followed by fireworks sponsored by B.J. Alan. In case of rain, the performance will be in the Boardman Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Ave.

Brookfield: Fireworks at Truck Night at Yankee Lake, Route 7, 7 p.m., Friday. For more information, go to www.trucknight.com.

Canfield: Fireworks at the Canfield Fairgrounds at dusk Friday. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Columbiana: Daylong activities at Firestone Park Friday, with a Canfield Community Band performance at 7 p.m. and fireworks at 10 p.m.

East Palestine: Fireworks display Saturday at the city park, capping daylong activities.

Mercer, Pa.: Mercer Community Band concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday on Courthouse Square, with an ice cream social.

North Jackson: Parade begins at 10 a.m. Friday. It starts on Liberty Street and proceeds down Mahoning Avenue, ending at Jackson-Milton High School.

Niles: Fireworks display at 10 p.m. Friday. Food vendors available from 8 p.m. in downtown Niles.

Warren: W.D. Packard Concert Band concert at 8 p.m. Friday, followed by fireworks, at W.D. Packard Music Hall, South Lawn band shell. New Wilmington, Pa.: Westminster College will host an Independence Day celebration with a free concert and fireworks at 7:30 p.m. tonight at Brittain Lake.

Youngstown: Fireworks, 10 p.m., Chevrolet Centre, downtown Youngstown.
