TURNING POINT Fast facts
Turning Point Counseling Services, 611 Belmont Ave., opened its doors as Parkview Counseling Center in 1994. Parkview and Eastern Behavioral Health in Struthers merged in 2003, and the name of the combined agency became Turning Point.
Turning Point is a nonprofit agency that provides evaluation and treatment for behavioral and substance-abuse problems in adults.
Programs
Crisis intervention: Available 24 hours a day.
Counseling: One-on-one and group sessions.
Community psychiatricsupportive treatment: Ongoing assistance and case management services.
Group communitypsychiatric supportive treatment: Daily activities, therapeutic interventions and educations for clients in need of a more structured program.
Emergency services: Assess a client’s situation and strengths before determining a level of care.
Crisis Stabilization Unit: A 12-bed, short-term residential facility located at Turning Point, which is an alternative to hospitalization.
