Huntington to close two branches, open one
STAFF REPORT
Huntington Bank plans to change its presence in the area.
The branches at 829 Sharon-New Castle Road in Farrell, Pa., and at 6749 Tod Ave. SW in Lordstown are scheduled to close at the end of August, laying off four employees in Lordstown and two in Farrell.
Huntington spokeswoman Jeri Grier said the employees will have an opportunity to apply for other jobs within the company.
A new branch will be built at 1732 S. Raccoon Road in Austintown — at the former site of Lucianno’s Cafe Banquet Center. It will open for business in December.
Lucianno’s has moved across the street to 1739 S. Raccoon Road.
Information collected about each branch, including location, distance from other branches and level of customer use, were used to determine whether any changes were warranted, Grier said.
Huntington has 56 branches in the area and more than 600 branches in Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, West Virginia, Pennsylvania and Northern Kentucky.
