Wharmby wins; Livi clinches playoff spot
STRUTHERS — Wharmby Sports scored four times in the top of the seventh inning to defeat Action Physical Therapy, 7-3, in a Class B League game Monday night at Cene Park.
Cory Johnson had two hits and drove home a pair of runs while Garen Ream also had two hits for Wharmby Sports (9-17). Tyler Armstrong (2-2) pitched a complete game, allowing two earned runs with three strikeouts.
Casey Dumars (0-6) suffered the loss in relief for Action (1-25)
Astro Falcons 7, Livi Steel 5
STRUTHERS — Astro (19-7) had just six hits but took advantage of 11 walks and four errors by Livi Steel to score five unearned runs.
Mark Lapikas had three hits and the leading hitter in the league improved his average to .642. Jared Kirin won his fifth straight decision as he went six innings. Jason Simons tossed a perfect seventh for his first save.
Garrett Herald had three hits, and Zack Maghee two for Livi Steel (11-15), which clinched the final playoff spot despite the loss.
Simon Roofing 10, Roth Brothers 3
STRUTHERS — Joe Sekula had three hits for Simon Roofing, while Ross Revella, Brett Cooper, Evan Bollinger, and Wade Daniels all had two.
Roth (9-17) got a run-scoring single from Pat Mulligan.

YOUNGSTOWN — Youngstown Metros swept Tri-County, 18-7 and 14-8, Sunday at Pemberton-Donnell Park.
In the first game, Matt Yarab had three hits and four RBIs and Jim Pasquine had three hits, including a homer and double, and two RBIs.
Armani Johnson, Eric Pirtz and Mike Hoelzel all had two hits for Metros.
Eddie Gonda had two hits and three RBIs for Tri County, and Aaron Boris singled twice.
In the second game, Johnson had three hits, including a triple and double and five RBIs.
Anthony Porter also had three hits, including a double, and four RBIs. Pirtz and Dave Dobson added two hits each.
D.J. Havrin singled twice to lead Tri-County.
Tri-State Collegiate
YOUNGSTOWN — Jim Pasquine drew a bases-loaded walk in the bottom of the eighth inning, giving Youngstown Metros a 2-1 victory over Cleveland Shannon Fence in a doubleheader at Pemberton-Donnell Park Saturday.
The Metros won the opener 4-3.
Armani Johnson and Eric Pirtz hit doubles for the Metros in the nightcap. Pasquine also had an RBI single.
Josh Tedesco allowed eight hits in a complete-game win.
In the first game, Pirtz went 3-for-3 and scored the go-ahead run in the bottom of the sixth on a double by Joe Iacobucci.
Pasquine added a pair of hits, including a double, and Mike Hoelzel hit a double.
Joe Antinone scattered three hits and fanned five to earn the win.
