Cobalt posts strong numbers for June


The Chevrolet Cobalt posted another strong month in June.

General Motors said today that it sold 20,888 Cobalts in the U.S. last month, which was a 22 percent increase from June 2007.

It was the second-best month of the year for the Cobalt, which had 26,702 sales in May. For the first six months of this year, Cobalt sales are up 19 percent. The car is produced at GM’s Lordstown plant.

Overall, however, GM’s sales dropped 19 percent in June.
