New cookbook goes on sale


Altrusa Club of Youngstown has collected the best recipes from group members, family and friends and compiled them into an attractive keepsake cookbook, “Recipes for Reading.”

Books, which cost $11, may be purchased form any member of the organization or at The “Sweetheart” of a Lunch to be held at 11:30 a.m. Feb. 14 at Carrabba’s Italian Grill, 1320 Boardman-Poland Road, or at the “Plant the Seed to Read” 2nd Annual Children’s Book Fair, from 10 a.m. to 4 pm. April 5 at the D.D. & Velma Davis Education & Visitor Center in Fellows Riverside Gardens-Mill Creek Park.

All proceeds will go to support the “Plant the Seed to Read” event.

The cookbook contains 396 recipes including appetizers, main dishes and desserts. It also has a This & That section with crafts and activities appropriate for children for rainy or sunny day fun things to do.

Recipes include the contributor’s name, enabling you to find the recipes of family and friends.
