Assault reported outside of Boardman Wal-Mart

BOARDMAN — A 19-year-old Youngstown State University student told police she was jumped and assaulted by four women outside of Wal-Mart who then stole her cellular phone.

The woman, of Tyrell Street, Youngstown, said she was coming out of the Doral Drive store about 7:30 p.m. Monday when two cars pulled up to her and four women got out. The victim knows one of the women, she told police, and the two have had an ongoing feud since high school.

One of the women pulled the victim’s hair extensions out of her head and two others kicked her in the head and stomach, the victim told police. The same woman who pulled her hair also hit her arm while trying to steal her wallet, she said. The woman with whom the victim says she has had an ongoing feud was standing over her with a gun.

As the store’s security pulled up, one of the women grabbed the victim’s phone and all four fled.

Store security called township police at the time of the incident, but the victim had left before police arrived.

She went to the police station Tuesday to file the report.
