Herb Growers Guild announces 2008 officers


CANFIELD — Holborn Herb Growers Guild elected the following officers for 2008: Carri Bookwalter, president; Claudia DiRienzo, vice president I Program; Diane Playforth, vice president II Canfield Gardens; Judy Moore and Jo Bradfield, co-vice presidents III Boardman Gardens; Sue Kasmer, recording secretary; Karen Sprague, corresponding secretary; Virginia Bartos, treasurer.

The guild’s purpose is to educate its members and the public about the culture and purpose of herbs. Members maintain the public herb gardens in Boardman Township Park and Western Reserve Village at the Canfield Fairgrounds. The gardens for the blind and disabled have been moved from Mill Creek Park to Western Reserve Village.

The 50 members are celebrating the 25th anniversary of the guild, which meets the third Tuesday of each month in the Colonial Inn at the fairgrounds. Guests are welcome to attend.
