Dolsak leads McDonald past Western Reserve


Her 21 points and 16 rebounds paced the 50-47 victory.

BERLIN CENTER — Emily Dolsak scored 21 points, including 16-for-24 at the foul line, and grabbed 16 rebounds while Joh’Vonnie Mosely added 15 points and nine rebounds to lead McDonald (16-1, 11-1 ITCL Tier Two) to a 50-47 win over Western Reserve.

Mosely scored 11 of McDonald’s 20 points in the final quarter. McDonald was 8-for-13 at the foul line in the last period, with Dolsak going 4-for-6.

Western Reserve (5-12, 5-7) had an 18-10 goal advantage but McDonald made 28-for-42 at the foul line.

Melisa Burky had 22 points to lead Western Reserve while Ellie Sanders added 10 points and Jess Keeler nine rebounds.

Leetonia 40, Southern 25

LEETONIA — Leetonia jumped out to an 11-1 lead and led 25-10 at halftime.

The Bears (14-3, 11-1 ITCL) were led by Sarah Weikart with 10 points and four rebounds, while Love Devett Hill paced Southern (1-17, 0-12) with 11 points.

Jackson-Milton 53, Wellsville 38

NORTH JACKSON — The Bluejays jumped out to a 22-5 lead in the first quarter and the Tigers (5-13, 4-8) couldn’t catch up in the ITCL Tier Two game.

Alyssa Chine scored 28 points for the Bluejays and Jullian Adams added 12. Alley Wiseman pulled down 10 rebounds. Jillian Adams had four assists and four steals.

Mikelle Williams led the Tigers with 12 points.

South Range 40,
Mineral Ridge 35

MINERAL RIDGE — League-leading South Range had its hands full against Mineral Ridge for the first half before pulling away in the third quarter and then holding off the Rams.

The Rams (1-16, 0-12 ITCL Tier One) led 15-12 at the intermission, but the Raiders rolled to an 11-2 edge in the third quarter.

South Range (16-2, 11-1) was led by Autumn Carter with 18 points, including 10 in the final quarter, while Heather Reinhart paced the Rams with 11 points.

United 61, Springfield 48

HANOVERTON — Maggie Sell had 23 points and seven rebounds to lead United (13-4, 10-2 ITCL).

Maggie Miller added 17 points and four assists for the Golden Eagles.

Springfield (5-13, 3-9) was led by Ashley Davis with 13 points and seven rebounds. Rachel Kennedy added 13 points and seven rebounds, and Andria Lyons had three assists and four steals.

East Palestine 46

NEW WATERFORD — The Rebels (12-6, 7-5 ITCL) held the Bulldogs (2-12, 2-10) to nine points in the first quarter and eight in the second building a 28-17 lead.

Chelsea Bowker scored a game-high 22 points for the Rebels. Shanelle Davner added 18 and they each pulled down 10 rebounds. Haley Graham and Bowker had four assists apiece. Tess Reash had four steals.

Logan Guy and Erin Reese each scored nine points for the Bulldogs. Guy had six steals and six assists.

Lisbon 54, Columbiana 49

LISBON — Emily Smith scored 27 points and she went over 1,000 career points (1,018) for the Blue Devils (13-4, 8-4 ITCL).

Megan Reynolds added 10 points, while Emma DeFilippo grabbed eight rebounds and Erica Snoddy had five assists and Katie Snoddy six steals.

Katie Witmer and Katie Douglas each scored 13 points for the Clippers. Hayley Goist scored 11.
