Brookfield remains atop the TAC race
Liberty and Newton Falls also won league games.
GIRARD — Brookfield continues to sit atop the standings in the Trumbull Athletic Conference following a 63-25 win over Girard Monday night.
The Warriors (15-2, 10-1 TAC) hold a one-game lead over second place Liberty.
Brookfield put 11 players in the scoring column against the Indians after jumping out to a 19-0 first-quarter advantage. Lauren Gentile, Kelly Jones and Brittany Hiner all had 10 points to lead the Warriors.
Girard (1-16, 1-9) was led by Ashley Esposito with seven points.
Liberty 66, Lakeview 47
CORTLAND — Brittany Armour scored 22 points and Melissa Dykes 19 to lead Liberty (13-4, 9-2 TAC).
Armour scored six of her points in the second quarter when Liberty reeled off a 10-1 run and took a 31-22 advantage at the half.
Bri Pettway added nine points.
Joanna Novotny had 22 points to lead Lakeview (6-11, 4-7) while Mackenzie Palette added 12 points and Emily Malmisur 10 rebounds.
Newton Falls 62, Champion 40
NEWTON FALLS — Newton Falls pulled out to a 25-12 first quarter lead and coasted past Champion.
The Tigers (8-9, 5-6 TAC) were led by Kelsey McGregor with 19 points, while Jaci Dach added 13.
Champion (1-16, 1-9) was paced by Erika Stevers with 15.
Maplewood 58, Southington 21
MAPLEWOOD — Kristin Schwartz fired in 22 points and grabbed six rebounds while Leah Dean added 12 points with six rebounds and six assists, to power Maplewood (18-0, 10-0 Northeastern Athletic Conference).
Michelle Sloan added 12 points.
Southington fell to 6-9, 4-4.
Lordstown 31, Badger 26
KINSMAN — Brianna Blodgett scored 12 points and led the Red Devils (11-7, 4-5 NAC) past Badger.
Amelia Deraway had 11 points for the Braves (2-16, 1-9).
