Accused arsonist’s brothers give DNA samples to police

YOUNGSTOWN — The two younger brothers of the 18-year-old man charged with setting fire to a house and killing six members of the Crawford family on Stewart Avenue last week agreed to give DNA samples to police, said Capt. Kenneth Centorame, chief of detectives. The teenage brothers of Michael A. Davis of 817 Bennington Ave. gave the DNA samples (mouth swabs) on Monday at the police station crime lab. Centorame said this morning that the boys were accompanied by their mother. He said DNA evidence in the investigation has been encountered. Investigators said an accelerant was poured on the porch and ignited at 1645 Stewart on Jan. 23. Davis is being held in jail without bond.
