Thiel 80, Waynesburg 75

WAYNESBURG, Pa. — Senior forward Joe Hermann collected 31 points and nine rebounds to ignite Thiel (7-9, 3-4 Presidents’ Athletic Conference). Freshman forward Tommy Hall (Campbell Memorial) shot 8-for-9 and scored 19 points as Thiel finished 32-for-55 (58.2 percent) from the field. Waynesburg’s (7-10, 1-6) Tim Drakeley scored a career-high 35 points.

Saint Vincent 87, Westminster 60

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Ian McCollough scored 31 points to become the 27th Bearcat to score 1,000 points in a career. The Bearcats (14-3) scored 49 points in the second half to outdistance the Titans (3-15). Ryne Murray had 16 points, Chauncey Whitlow (Wilson) had 14 and Craig Hannon 12 for Westminster.

WOMEN

Thiel 55, Waynesburg 50

WAYNESBURG, Pa. — Junior guard Amber Bodrick (Cardinal Mooney) finished with 26 points, 12 rebounds, six steals, four blocks and three assists as Thiel (7-9, 4-4 PAC) avoided its fifth-straight loss. Thiel collected a season-high 16 steals against the Yellow Jackets (1-16, 0-8). Kim Stitt (Hickory) had 10 points and six rebounds for Thiel which trailed by 11 points (39-28) with 13 minutes remaining.
