The Wheelers celebrate 50 years of marriage

X AUSTINTOWN — Mr. and Mrs. Walter Wheeler Jr., 4463 Nantucket Drive, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary Jan. 26 in Boardman during a private dinner with their family.

The Wheelers have five children, Wanda Blasko and Tom Wheeler, both of Boardman; Tania Gorrell and Trina Jones, both of Austintown; and Tammy Rader of North Jackson. The couple also have five grandchildren, Cody, Zack, Rayvin, Raenah and Kadin.

Mr. Wheeler and the former Elizabeth Ellen Vinson were married Jan. 25, 1958, at the Methodist Church, Freeland, Mich. They are members of General Assembly Church of God in Newton Falls.

Mrs. Wheeler is a homemaker, and Mr. Wheeler retired from the General Motors Lordstown Fabrication Plant in 1992 as a general supervisor. He served in the U.S. Army as a mechanic.
