Krichbaum appointment

Judge R. Scott Krichbaum of Mahoning County Common Pleas Court has been appointed by the Ohio Supreme Court to a third five-year term on the court’s Board of Bar Examiners.

The 18 members of the board write the questions and answers for the Ohio State Bar Exam and grade the answers. Judge Krichbaum’s new term begins April 1.

SCOUTS

Eagle award

Alex T. Acri, son of Jack and Anne Acri of North Jackson, has received his Eagle Scout award, Boy Scouting’s highest honor. The court-of-honor ceremony took place Saturday at First Federated Church in North Jackson.

Alex was a member of Cub Scout Pack 105 from 1997 to 2001, where he attained the highest rank of Arrow of Light.

He joined Boy Scout Troop 105 in May 2001, and his scoutmaster is Bill Clark. He has earned 24 merit badges and held the positions of troop historian, quartermaster, chaplain aide, and assistant patrol leader.

His special awards include membership in Order of the Arrow, Stigwandish Trailblazer award and the Philmont Duty to God patch. Special activities include a two-week trek to the Philmont Scout Ranch in 2007.

For his Eagle Scout service project, he planned and led the construction of a 600-square-foot playground for toddlers of Sunshine Preschool in North Jackson.

Alex is a senior at Jackson-Milton High School, where he plays alto saxophone in the band. He is active in the drama club, National Honor Society, Speech & Debate and Quiz Bowl. He is a member of the cross-country team and was a delegate to Buckeye Boys State this summer. He is a member of First Federated Church in North Jackson.
