Dinner is held to mark DeSantis 69th anniversary

X YOUNGSTOWN — The 69th wedding anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Lorenzo DeSantis, 388 Argyle Ave., was observed during a dinner party that took place Jan. 26 at the home of their daughter and son-in-law, Florence and Paul Harkey in Canfield.

The couple’s other children are John DeSantis of Surfside Beach, S.C., and Frank DeSantis of Fairlawn, and they have nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

The former Velia Angelilli and Mr. DeSantis were united in marriage Jan. 26, 1939, at St. Maria’s Church in Pacentro, Italy. They are members of St. Dominic Church and the Pacentrani Club.

Mr. DeSantis served as a paratrooper with the Italian Army. He was employed as a millwright at Youngstown Sheet and Tube Co. in Campbell prior to retiring in 1978. Mrs. DeSantis is a homemaker.
