Boy Scouts plan Freeze-Out
CANFIELD — Whispering Pines District of Greater Western Reserve Council Boy Scouts of America is sponsoring its annual Cub Scout Freeze-Out — Saturday and Feb. 9 — at Camp Stambaugh, 3712 Leffingwell Road.
On both Saturdays, Tiger, Wolf, Bear and Webelos Scouts of all the Cub Scout packs in Mahoning County and Hubbard will be spending the day at Camp Stambaugh no matter what the weather brings.
Crafts, games, and other activities will be held throughout the camp from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The Scouts will travel to different stations as they make their way “North To Alaska.”
One of the stations will teach teamwork as they learn to work together to make rope then use the ropes to do teamwork games. Another station will teach them about using a global positioning system to help them find their way north.
They also will make a stop at the aviation field to learn about aircraft and even test their skills at flying.
All activities will be supervised by Boy Scouts and adults from local troops.
