Ohio trooper Sgt. Cox wins Ace Award

COLUMBUS — Sgt. Ronald L. Cox of the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Lisbon Post was awarded the agency’s Ace Award on Friday during a ceremony in Columbus.

The award is for excellence in auto theft enforcement. Cox has recovered five stolen vehicles with a total value of $24,000.

He received a certificate, a uniform ribbon, and Ace license plates for display on his cruiser.

Cox joined the patrol in 1993. He’s been named a post trooper of the year twice, and has been named a district trooper of the year. He’s worked for the Warren and Canton posts, and began working in Lisbon in 2006.

He and his wife, Kimberly, and their three children live in Alliance.

Cox’s uncle, retired OSHP Trooper Phillip J. Kuceyeski, had earned an Ace award and was at the ceremony for Cox.
