On deck: The Youngstown SteelHounds begin a three-game series with the Rocky Mountain Rage tonight at the Chevrolet Centre. Game times are 7:05 p.m. today and Saturday, and 4:05 p.m. Sunday.
Radio: All games will be broadcast on WBBW-AM (1240).
SteelHounds notes: The SteelHounds (21-13-2) lost two of three games to Bossier-Shreveport last weekend at the Chevy Centre. The SteelHounds lost 3-2 and 5-3 before winning 3-2 in a shootout. Sunday’s win snapped a six-game (0-5-1) winless streak. Youngstown enters the weekend one point behind Mississippi for second place in the Northeast Division. Eric Przepiorka leads the SteelHounds with 18 goals and he’s tied for second with 40 points. Chris Richards has 15 goals and 26 assists, and Peter Pohl has 15 goals and 25 assists.
Player moves: Wednesday, the SteelHounds traded defenseman Gord Burnett to the Laredo Bucks for center Jeff Genovy and forward Brent McSween. Then the team send McSween to the Texas Brahmas for defenseman Eric Main. The SteelHounds also waived goalie Layne Sedevie, forward Chris Ferazzoli and defenseman Andrew Scampoli.
Rage notes: Rocky Mountain last played Tuesday, defeating Rio Grande Valley 6-3. Daymen Rycroft and Brent Cullaton scored two goals apiece for the Rage, and goalie Terry Dunbar stopped 34 shots. Rycroft leads the team with 31 goals, and Cullaton has 51 assists and 63 points. The Rage have won three straight games and eight of their last 10.

Next: The SteelHounds visit Odessa on Feb. 1 and Oklahoma City on Feb. 2. Their next home series is Feb. 5-6 against Texas.
