Lisbon’s Smith breaks school record for treys


LISBON — Emily Smith of Lisbon High set a school record for most 3-point goals made in one season, as she scored 23 points to lead the Blue Devils to a 64-36 win over Mineral Ridge in an Inter Tri-County League Tier One girls basketball game Thursday night.

Smith made four 3-point goals to lift her total to a season total to 49. She also was 5-for-5 at the foul line.

Mindy Jackson added 10 points and eight rebounds, while Megan Reynolds also added 10 points for Lisbon (12-4, 7-4 ITCL). Katie Snoddy had six rebounds while Erica Snoddy had seven points and four assists.

Heather Reinhart had 11 points for Mineral Ridge (1-15, 0-11).

United 44, East Palestine 29

EAST PALESTINE — The Golden Eagles (12-4, 9-2 ITCL Tier One) built a 32-16 lead at halftime and the Bulldogs (5-11, 2-9) couldn’t catch up. Maggie Sell scored 12 points to pace United. Laure Rockhold added 11. Logan Guy and Toni Powell each scored six points for the Bulldogs.

Leetonia 39, Western Reserve 33

BERLIN CENTER — Lynsie Davis made all nine of her points in the third quarter when Leetonia (13-3, 10-1 ITCL Tier Two) outscored Western Reserve, 13-9, to pull away. Most of Davis’ points were down low after receiving entry passes. With 10 points, Erin Lamb was the only Bears player in double figures. Senior Ellie Sanders had a game-high 17 points for Western Reserve, which made 1-of-12 field goal attempts in the first quarter. Sophomore Jess Keeler had eight of Reserve’s 22 rebounds.

Sebring 54, Jackson-Milton 44

SEBRING — It was a close game from start to finish with the Bluejays (2-14, 1-10 ITCL Tier Two) ahead 11-10 at the end of the first quarter, Sebring led 26-19 at halftime and 38-31 after three periods. Megan Allcorn and Jill Bragg led the Trojans (11-5, 7-4) with 16 points apiece. Julia Grimsley added 13. Braggs pulled down 13 rebounds. Allcorn had eight assists. Jillian Adams led the Bluejays with 14 points, while Allie Wiseman finished with 11.
