HUBBARD
Jan. 18
Burglary: A woman returned to her Triangle Drive home and discovered a break-in.
Theft: A man in a blue vehicle left a Shell True North station, 204 W. Liberty St., without paying for gasoline.
Possible burglary: Nothing appeared to be missing from a Forest Hill Drive residence after the homeowner suspected a break-in.
Jan. 20
Theft: A West Park Avenue woman reported the theft of her purse.
Jan. 21
Theft: Equipment was stolen from a shopping area on North Main Street.
LIBERTY
Jan. 18
Bad check: A 43-year-old Youngstown woman was suspected of trying to cash a counterfeit $3,000 check at Penguin Check Cashing, 3233 Belmont Ave.
Burglary: A man found out someone gained entry to his residence in the 100 block of Mansell Drive by entering the basement through a coal chute. A $120 DVD/videocassette recorder was stolen and a gas meter was damaged.
Robbery: A man, age 30 to 32, grabbed and pulled toward him an employee of a Belmont Avenue gas station before taking an undisclosed amount of money and fleeing in a vehicle.
Theft/criminal damaging: A worker for a Belmont Avenue business reported someone smashed a passenger-side window to his van and stole a bag of clothing.
Drugs: Authorities investigated two suspicious people in the 3000 block of Green Acres Drive, where they took into custody two 27-year-old Youngstown men on charges of obstructing official business. One also was charged with trafficking in marijuana, a fourth-degree felony, when police said they found nine individually wrapped bags of the suspected drug.
Theft: A Sampson Drive man reported $1,500 worth of hand tools stolen after someone forced open a toolbox on his truck.
Jan. 19
Burglary: Someone broke into and ransacked a Somerset Drive apartment, cut a phone line and tampered with the alarm system.
Identity fraud: An Arms Drive woman received word that someone was trying to make a $2,100 transaction with her credit card without her consent.
Drugs: A traffic stop on state Route 193 led to a 22-year-old Vienna man’s being charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when, officers said, they found two bags of suspected marijuana and a suspected marijuana pipe.
Jan. 20
Drug paraphernalia: A 46-year-old man, no city given, was arrested on state Route 193 and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police said a suspected crack cocaine pipe was in his car’s trunk.
Jan. 21
Breaking and entering: A $500 laptop computer was missing after someone broke into Delliquadri Lawn Service & Landscaping, 1270 Trumbull Ave., through a rear window.
Arrest: After stopping her car on Church Hill Road, police arrested a Cortland woman, 40, upon learning she was wanted on a warrant from the county charging her with disorderly conduct.
Arrest: A 24-year-old Youngstown man wanted on a warrant was taken into custody at a Belmont Avenue motel.
Breaking and entering: The owner of a building in the 4500 block of Belmont Avenue called police after someone forced open a rear door and took two jack hammers, three heaters and a laser device. The loss came to $3,900.
Jan. 22
Burglary: A man in the 2900 block of Anderson-Morris Road saw that someone had forced open a back-door window before entering his residence and ransacking two rooms. A Sony PlayStation 3 game system and between $150 and $200 worth of coins were missing.
Theft: A Fifth Avenue man discovered an $800 tailgate had been removed from his pickup truck.
GIRARD
Jan. 18
Theft: Store personnel detained a 40-year-old Girard man they accused of stealing two packages of steaks from Santisi’s IGA Super Center, 419 N. State St.
Criminal damaging: A Boardman man was accused of breaking a vehicle’s rear window in the 400 block of East Prospect Street.
Jan. 19
Theft: A student at Girard High School, 31 N. Ward Ave., reported a digital camera and a house key stolen from her purse.
Jan. 20
Burglary: A woman returned to her Forsythe Avenue apartment and found a broken window after someone had entered. A bedroom was ransacked and a DVD player was missing.
Drugs: While responding to a suspicious vehicle in the 500 block of Joan Avenue, officers summoned a Youngstown man, 19, on a charge of drug abuse. A bag of suspected marijuana was in an ashtray, police said.
Jan. 21
Theft: After a Squaw Creek Drive man told police several people were stealing scrap from his property, authorities charged two Girard men, 19 and 20, and a 42-year-old Warren man with theft and criminal trespassing. The Warren man also faced one count of carrying a concealed weapon when, officers said, they found a knife in his pocket.
Jan. 22
Forgery: A Girard man discovered four checks totaling $3,900 had been forged.
Breaking and entering: A woman in the 300 block of Iowa Avenue realized someone had broken into her garage and broke a lock.
