YOUNGSTOWN — The election and installation of officers for 2008 took place at a recent meeting of the Police and Fire Retirees of Ohio, District 2, Chapter 10, of Mahoning and Columbiana counties.

Named to head the organization were Richard Holzschuh, president; Charles Brunswick, vice president; Carol deSaulles, secretary; Robert Oravec, treasurer, and Edward Gibson, William Manley and Ruth Reedy, trustees.

The next meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 14 at Brandywine Clubhouse, 3390 Flo-Lor Drive.

All retirees and D.R.O.P. participants of the Ohio Police and Fire Disability and Pension Fund living in the two counties, their spouses or survivors are welcome to join. For more information, call Holzschuh at (330) 743-5502.

Square dancers welcome

SHARON, Pa. — New and plus square dancers are invited to participate in a dance to be held by Shenango Valley Sashayers Western Square Dance Club from 8 to 10:30 p.m. Friday at the Salvation Army Building, corner of Fisher Hill and Hall Avenue.

The caller for the ’50s dance will be Gene Hammond. Admission is $5, and there will be refreshments.

Class extends to new level

YOUNGSTOWN — There will be a second-level adult Italian class at Our Lady of Mount Carmel on Wednesdays from 6 to 8 p.m.
