Guns, ammo seized at North Jackson residence


NORTH JACKSON — Federal and local law enforcement officers seized 72 firearms, ammunition, gun parts and drug paraphernalia from 12671 N. Palmyra Road Thursday morning.

No have been made. Evidence will be presented to the Mahoning County Grand Jury.

The investigation involving the Mahoning County Sheriff’s Department, Mahoning Valley Law Enforcement Task Force Drug Unit and Crisis Response Team, township police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, began in late 2007 in response to complaints of drug activity and firearms violations at the home. It was initiated by Jeffrey Arnaut and Laurence McLaughlin, Mahoning deputies assigned to the task force drug unit.

The cache of firearms included 18 handguns and 54 rifles.
