“The Leopards Take Manhattan” (7:15 p.m., HBO): The Leopards, a youth percussion band

“The Leopards Take Manhattan” (7:15 p.m., HBO): The Leopards, a youth percussion band based in Louisville, have played jazz all over the country, earning rave reviews. Music teacher Diane Downs founded the group in 1993 using discarded percussion instruments and a teaching method that emphasizes experimentation rather than reading notes. The special follows the Leopards as they travel to New York for a jazz educators’ conference, opening for composer and pianist Chick Corea. HBO filmed the performance for this special, the last of an installment in the network’s “The Music in Me” series.

“Chuck” (8 p.m., NBC): The action-comedy “Chuck” gets a double airing on a special night. In the first new episode, our hero discovers that several Russian arms dealers are secretly meeting in Los Angeles — and that one of them is Casey’s ex-girlfriend. Another episode follows “Celebrity Apprentice.”
