Nelson-Porter engagement is being announced

X POLAND — Announced by Tim and Dorothy Nelson, 8260 Hilltop Drive, is the engagement of their daughter, Amy Sarah Nelson of the same address, and Joshua Paul Porter of Myrtle Beach, S.C., a son of Robert and Lynn Porter of Bedford, Ind.

Miss Nelson will graduate in May from Taylor University in Upland, Ind., with a bachelor’s degree in social studies education. She plans to pursue a teaching position in Myrtle Beach.

Mr. Porter holds a bachelor’s degree in sports management from Taylor University. He is a sports and recreation director with Carolina Forest Community Center in Myrtle Beach.

Evangel Baptist Church in Boardman has been chosen as the setting for the couple’s open wedding at 1 p.m. July 12. Invitations will be extended for their reception that evening at Mahoning Country Club in Girard.
