Ex-Wal-Mart manager’s suit alleges sex bias

WOODLAND, Pa. (AP) — A former manager at a Clearfield County Wal-Mart store is suing the company, claiming sex discrimination.

Helen Masonis was fired in 2006. The Falls Creek woman says she was told she was fired for not being truthful in interviews about a romantic relationship with a supervisor in another department.

She insists she did her best to provide accurate information in the interviews.

Masonis also claims some male managers weren’t disciplined for having relationships with employees they supervised.

Spokesman Phillip Keene says Wal-Mart hasn’t seen the lawsuit. He says Wal-Mart ensures fair and equal treatment for its workers.
