AT THE BABY SHOWER \ Dispersing information

Various agencies and organizations participated in the baby shower at the McGuffey Centre, 1649 Jacobs Road, Youngstown. They dispersed information along with items including disposable diapers, pacifiers, growth charts, coloring books and the like. Participants were:

Easter Seals of Mahoning, Trumbull and Columbiana counties: Among services offered are physical, speech and occupational therapy and day care and preschool for children with special needs. There are four sites. (330) 743-1168.

Helping Other Women Inc., 2622 Mahoning Ave., Youngstown: Support services including support groups, nutrition information, basic computer training and referrals to other agencies. (330) 797-5055.

Humility of Mary Health Partners St. Elizabeth Health Center Pediatric Clinic, 1001 Covington St., Youngstown: Among services are routine health checkups for newborns through 18 years old, immunizations, dietitian consults, financial counselor and WIC program on site. (330) 480-3257.

Humility of Mary Health Partners Resource Mothers Program, 1400 Tod Ave. N.W., Warren: Provides support to women during pregnancy and a year after the birth. (330) 373-6429.

Mahoning County Help Me Grow, 100 DeBartolo Place, Boardman: The agency offers a system of services for pregnant women, newborns, infants and toddlers to age 3. (330) 965-7912.

Ohio Medicaid: The health care program is geared to Ohioans with limited income, including pregnant women and families with children younger than 19. Local offices of job and family services determine eligibility. (800) 324-8680.

Mahoning-Youngstown Community Action Partnership: Runs a supplemental nutrition program for Mahoning County Women, Infants and Children. There are nine sites in area. (330) 747-5661.
