Vince Lisi founded the Youngstown Spiritual Society in 1996

Vince Lisi founded the Youngstown Spiritual Society in 1996. He coordinates its newsletter and activities and leads study groups. Lisi and Bob Cene Jr. are business partners in NOW Creations, a nonprofit company that offers products and services that focus on spiritual growth. Pat McCleery handles the daily operation of NOW Creations.

Background: Lisi has master’s degrees in philosophy from Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., and in theology from the Athenaeum of Ohio in Cincinnati.

Carreer: Lisi is a part-time faculty member in philosophy and religious studies at Youngstown State University and Penn State University Shenango Campus in Sharon, Pa.

Community: He also serves one day a week as a chaplain in the spiritual care department of St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Youngstown.

Study groups: Lisi teaches weekly study groups in Youngstown, Ashtabula, Strongsville and Akron and monthly groups in Indianapolis, Ind.; Columbus; and Pittsburgh. The Youngstown group meets from 7:15 to 8:45 p.m. Thursdays at the Ursuline Center, 4280 Shields Road, Canfield.
