NHL ROUNDUP \ Thursday’s games

Capitals 5, Oilers 4, SO

WASHINGTON — Matt Bradley scored after 11 other Washington players missed in the shootout. After Bradley, who has two goals this season, scored, Washington goalie Olaf Kolzig stopped shooter No. 24, Sheldon Souray, in the 12th round to end it. Alex Ovechkin, Alexander Semin and Mike Green all scored in the third straight game for Washington.

Red Wings 3, Canucks 2, SO

DETROIT — Henrik Zetterberg scored the only goal of the shootout. Dan Cleary scored twice for Detroit in regulation and Dominik Hasek made 26 saves. The NHL-leading Red Wings snapped a three-game losing streak. Henrik Sedin had a goal and an assist for Vancouver and Markus Naslund also scored. Roberto Luongo made 47 saves.

Senators 5, Hurricanes 1

OTTAWA — Antoine Vermette had his first two-goal game of the season, and Martin Gerber made 36 saves to lead Ottawa. Mike Fisher, Randy Robitaille and Jason Spezza also scored for Ottawa, which became the first Eastern Conference team to reach 30 wins. But the news wasn’t all good as captain Daniel Alfredsson injured his hip and was forced out of the game early in the second period.

Maple Leafs 3, Bruins 2, SO

BOSTON — Mats Sundin and Alex Steen scored shootout goals and Toronto snapped a six-game road losing streak. The Maple Leafs, who won for the third time in 10 games, had been outscored 39-19 during that span. Toronto allowed fewer than three goals for the first time in 11 games. Phil Kessel and Marc Savard failed on their shootout attempts for Boston, and Toronto’s Tomas Kaberle hit the post.

Canadiens 3, Thrashers 2, SO

ATLANTA — Andrei Kostitsyn scored with a brilliant move in the second period, then came through again in the shootout.
