NEW YORK — Jack Nicholson, the legendary ladies’ man, says he’d like to fall in love again. “I never minded being a fool for love,” the 70-year-old Oscar winner tells AARP The Magazine. “It’s nice to have a place to be foolish. Ask any old friend of mine, they’ll say, ‘Jack’s pretty smart, but in this area the man is beyond the pale. Don’t ask him anything about love. Or if you ask him, don’t listen to him.”’ Nicholson says getting older has changed the way he woos women. “I can’t hit on a girl in public like I used to,” he says. “I never thought words like ‘undigNicholson, whose past flames include Anjelica Huston and Lara Flynn Boyle, explains: “I feel uncomfortable. I don’t think anybody cares what I do in these areas, but it feels a little bit off to me.”

Elvis costume maker dies

PALM SPRINGS, Calif. — Costume designer Bill Belew, who created Elvis Presley’s jumpsuits and the tight black leather outfit he wore on his 1968 television special, has died. He was 76. Belew died Jan. 7 at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs after battling diabetes, his longtime companion, Paul Dafelmair, told the Los Angeles Times. In his nearly 50-year career, Belew designed costumes for many stars of stage, screen and television, ranging from Ella Fitzgerald to Gloria Estefan.

‘The Road’ crew in Pa.

PITTSBURGH — Academy Award-winning actress Charlize Theron and Viggo Mortensen are expected to spend several weeks in southwestern Pennsylvania shooting a movie. The Pittsburgh Film Office and the production company, 2929 Entertainment, say “The Road” will shoot in the region for eight weeks starting in late February. Filming also will take place in Oregon and Louisiana. “The Road” is based on Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel set in a post-apocalyptic America. The film also stars Australian actor Guy Pearce. Theron won an Oscar for the film “Monster.” Mortensen appeared in “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy.

Reckless driving charges
for Britney paparazzi

LOS ANGELES — Four paparazzi have been arrested for reckless driving while chasing Britney Spears’ car in the San Fernando Valley. Los Angeles police Lt. Mario Munoz said officers observed several cars following a white Mercedes-Benz around 11:30 p.m. Wednesday in Mission Hills. The cars were following Spears’ car too closely and traveling at unsafe speed. They also made several unsafe lane changes, authorities said. Munoz said officers stopped the Mercedes, interviewed Spears and released the 26-year-old pop star after verifying her driver’s license. But the four photographers in the cars chasing her were booked for investigation of reckless driving.
