SCT to bring ‘Strangers on a Train’ to the stage

SALEM — The suspenseful “Strangers on a Train” begins a two-weekend run Friday at Salem Community Theatre, 490 E. State St.

Based upon the novel by Patricia Highsmith, “Strangers” was made into a film in 1951 by Alfred Hitchcock. The psychological thriller involves two men who meet on a train. They speculate on what it would be like to commit the perfect murder. It’s an innocent conversation — until someone turns up dead.

The theater is offering a two-for-one ticket special to nonsubscribers for “Strangers.” Also, season subscribers can request additional tickets at no extra charge.

Friday and Saturday shows will start at 8 p.m. and Sunday shows will begin at 2 p.m. To order tickets, call the box office at (330) 332-9688.
