Islanders 3, Devils 1

NEWARK, N.J. — Rick DiPietro had 37 saves and Bill Guerin scored two goals to lead the Islanders over New Jersey, their fifth win in as many games this season against them. DiPietro was spectacular in the third period, stopping 15 of 16 shots, including one in close by Dainius Zubrus in the final 90 seconds that had the Devils center looking up at the rafters in the Prudential Center. Guerin iced it with an empty-net goal seconds later, his ninth in 13 games.

Jason Pominville scored and Ryan Miller was sharp for the Sabres in stopping 33 shots.
