LOUIE TODAY: Bonnie Burdman; cookbook author Mollie Katzen

Listen in later today as Louie Free, Vindy.com's news radio partner, chats with Bonnie Burdman, director of the Youngstown Jewish Community Relations Council, and best-selling cookbook author Mollie Katzen.

Burdman will discuss the upcoming Martin Luther King Jr. Celebration, “A Spiritual Journey: The Road to Peace and Freedom,” a three-day series of events at local venues this weekend, examining the civil rights leader's contributions to America and the world.

Katzen has more than six million books in print, and is listed by the New York Times as one of the best-selling cookbook authors of all time. She was inducted last year into the prestigious James Beard Cookbook Hall of Fame, and is credited with moving healthful vegetarian food into mainstream American dining. Health Magazine has called her one of "The Five Women Who Changed the Way We Eat."

She is a consultant to Harvard University Dining Services, a culinary advisor to the University of California at Berkeley, a nationally syndicated columnist through the Chicago Tribune, and a contributing editor to Shape Magazine.
