Man charged with indecency

CANFIELD — A man who walked naked through a church during Mass was charged with public indecency, Canfield Police report.

William G. Lodwick, 50, of Hickory Hollow Road, was cited into Mayor’s Court after the episode Saturday afternoon in St. Michael Church, 281 Glenview Road.

An officer reported he arrived to find three men restraining a naked man in the back of the church. The officer took him into custody and put his clothes back on him.

Witnesses said Lodwick entered the church dressed in a gray sweat suit and stayed in the rear of the building for five to 10 minutes. He walked down the main aisle and sat in the front pew, then took his pants off there, a witness told police.

Lodwick’s court appearance is Monday. He was released on his own recognizance and served with a trespass warning for the church.
