Woman, 71, robbed

GIRARD — City police are looking for an unidentified man who snatched an older city woman’s wallet, injuring her nose in the process.

According to police reports, the 71-year-old woman was coming out of the Trumbull Party Mart just before 11 a.m. Sunday, holding her wallet, when a man knocked her to the ground and grabbed it. The woman tried to hold onto the wallet but was overpowered by the thief.

The woman had a small cut on her nose. She was treated by paramedics at the scene.

The woman and two witnesses told police the man ran to a green two-door Pontiac. A female was said to have been driving the car. The couple drove off on Dearborn Street toward Youngstown.
